This is the memorandum of understanding that the Kurds signed with the Syrian regime.

A summary of “the deal”, signed on Sunday, in the next tweets:
The MoU was signed by Kurdish YPG Sipan Hamo and Mazloum Abdi, no signature from “representatives of the Syrian government”.

Also, the language is framed as a pledge by the SDF to the Syrian regime.

The document sounds like a surrender paper more than an “agreement”.
They agreed to allow the regime to enter northern Syrian on three fronts:

1) Tabqa to Ain Issa & up to the Turkish borders to the west of Tal Abyad

2) Manbij to Kobane till Tal Abyad & then westward

3) Hasaka, from Tal Tamr to Ras al-Ain till Qamashli, Malikiyah & southward
Syrian forces will then deploy in the Manbij area from Erayma along the Sajour River, per a previous agreement. Thus, the Syrian Army is deployed in the entire area east & north of the Euphrates in coordination with local military councils.
Exempted from this takeover is the area between Tal Abyad and Ras al-Ain for fighting to take place (against the Turkish forces) till they’re liberated.

The SDF pledges to preserve the unity of the Syrian territories under the Syrian republic & the leadership of Bashar al-Assad.
Yesterday we reported the gist of the “agreement”, but this is the first time we see the full text.
A quick take:

• “Memorandum of understanding” is a language the Syrian regime always used to mean a handshake
• The language is not framed as two sides agreeing, just that the SDF agrees the following
• “Representatives” of Damascus and no signature means it’s not formal deal
The SDF is now casting doubt on the document. It’s actually the same content reported yesterday by the SDF.

Literally not a single detail we didn’t know yesterday.

Likely they’re embarrassed by the language used, like the Arab names of towns, and how it’s a surrender deal.
The document reads like a surrender deal, not an agreement as the SDF framed it yesterday.

One possibility is that the regime leaked the document, which can explain why the signature isn’t there yet. The YPG signed it for the regime representatives to sign after that. Likely.
The SDF can deny all they want, but they reported the same exact content yesterday. It’ll be good if they could tell what’s in the text is wrong.

Denial shouldn’t be taken at face value. They’re most likely embarrassed by the “agreement”, and don’t want the public to see it.
I’m told by 2 knowledgeable friends that a detailed “roadmap” between Damascus & the Kurds is being ironed out, and full details will be coming out in the next few weeks. One reason why this is being denied as it stands. Also details reflect reality since
