Beltway media's obsession with framing every story as pure good vs. ultimate evil has long made it impossible for them to understand that Erdogan can be awful, ISIS can be monsters, AND the Syrian Kurds can have bad actors that really do threaten Turkish security.
This is also why they're very slow to acknowledge the same Syrian rebel groups they were taught to regard as pure white-hat good guys by the Obama administration are helping Turkey attack the Kurds.
It's amazing how many media reports casually mention "Turkey's Syrian allies" or even name the Free Syrian Army without mentioning it's the same group Obama told us was a band of superheroes who could defeat ISIS, al-Qaeda, AND Bashar Assad with a little American support.
Every media organization currently failing to remind its readers of that little detail wrote hundreds of reports during the Obama administration uncritically repeating what Obama said about the FSA, back when Obama was desperate to be seen as "doing something" about Syria.
None of those media organizations seems interested in reminding readers that reliable, unbiased information is incredibly difficult to obtain in the Middle East, ESPECIALLY in Syria. Hell, they can't give you reliable, unbiased information about what happens in America.
Admitting just how murky the situation in Syria is, how many bad guys are lurking on every side of a horrifying war, would have put undue pressure on the media's beloved Barack Obama, and it would now interfere with their fervent ORANGE MAN BAD messaging.
Perhaps worst of all, it would interfere with the globalist elite's passionate desire to remake the West through mass migration and refugee tidal waves. If the media reported honestly on how bad places like Syria are, Western populations would grow more resistant to migration.
Black-and-white narratives make it much easier to sell the public on the idea that sweet and innocent people - many or most of them military-age males - can be safely extracted from quagmires across the world without bringing their blood feuds and cultural pathologies with them.
It is absolutely unconscionable that only now is our media - with all its investigators, fact-checkers, and Men and Women of the World at the anchor desks - grudgingly admitting the Syrian Kurds and other rebel groups aren't all champions of democracy and foes of terrorism. /end
