Picking up nervousness among cabinet types at decision not to hold amended vote on BJ’s deal yesterday. A straight vote on deal may never now happen, if the Speaker deems it a repeat of Saturday. If gvt tries to use legislation to secure approval, high chance it will be amended

The assumption on Friday night amongst ministers (tho what do they know, No10 might ask) was that there would be a vote on a Letwin-amended revised brexit deal. Then by Sat morning No10 made clear they would whip to abstain / not divide house. Lots of people want to know why...
