Please recall your letter to PM Modi in May of 2016 demanding the removal of the then RBI governor Raghuram Rajan.

Therein you had argued, besides other things, that since Rajan held a US Green Card, his patriotic and unconditional commitment to India was

You had further argued that Rajan could be called to a military duty by the US government, and that made his holding a sensitive post with the Government of India less tenable.

A teacher of Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vigyan at BHU, is not just a school of learning the Sanskrit language and literature, but also the Hindu theology, practices, orthodoxy, rhetoric and to prepare Hindu religious leaders.

It includes preparing Hindu scholars who can defend

Hindu practices against the rhetoric and polemical attacks by the antagonistic vidharmas like Islam and Christianism.

This is explicitly mentioned in the BHU’s vision document drafter by Malaviya, as one of the roles of this particular school of BHU.

Going back to the analogy of Rajan not being qualified to head RBI because of his US Green Card, it is similarly objectionable that someone who professes Mohammedan faith to be disqualified to be a teacher at the SVDV school of BHU.

Further, Sir, like you had rightly pointed out that Rajan could be called to an active military duty by American government, you should realize that any Moslem can be called to the active military duty of faith by Islamic leadership in event of a declared Jehad.

To teach at SVDV therefore, a mere Sanskrit degree is not enough. Fidelity to Hinduism is paramount. A Moslem by definition has a “conflict of interest” and must be disqualified.

FYI, Malaviya ji had explicitly allowed Bauddha, Jain, Sikhs to be teachers there.
