Thousands filling #IAC2019 session ahead of @POTUS speech.

Somehow I got a decent seat; will update on content as it goes on.
Video greeting by @PresidentRuvi, saying @israeliamerican has crucial role in maintaining #Israel’s relationship with both the US Jewish community and the United States as a country.
Now video tribute to Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, thanking them for ongoing support; after which, they are set to introduce @POTUS.
Miriam Adelson looks for common ground: “Thank you liberals and thank you conservatives; thank you for putting your differences aside” for Israel, the US and their eternal bond and friendship.
Trump takes the stage earlier than planned; and stands, waiting for Adelson to finish her speech - which is a checklist of the pro-Israel steps taken by him: move of embassy to Jerusalem, recognition of Golan, cancelling of Iran deal.
Ahead of Chanukah, Adelsons present @potus with Chanukia - the special candelabra used on the Jewish festival of light.
.@POTUS: “Happy to address the fastest growing Jewish organization in the nation.”

[sidebar: the role & place of Israelis in the broader Jewish community is one of the most burning issues on the table.]
“If Jared Kushner can’t [bring peace], no one can” - on the need to reach a deal between #Israel and the Palestinians.
.@POTUS touches upon all the political and personal messages needed: @AmbDermer and his work, as well as issues facing Florida, including drug trafficking and need to build the wall with Mexico.
Special Trump shoutout to the Shalva Band. Wow.
Trump moves to campaign speech: new jobs, low unemployment, “America is winning and respected like never before”
“I don’t think they liked Israel too much,” Trump days of Obama’s team, adding “the Israel relationship was undermined” during @BarackObama’s 8 years in office.
“The Jewish state has never had a better friend in office than your president... unlike other politicians I kept my promises... we opened the American Embassy in Jerusalem. Finally.”
Trump: “We have to get people of this country to love Israel more... we have people, Jewish people, great people, who don’t love Israel enough”
Trump says he “understands” why previous presidents didn’t move embassy: “they were besieged by world leaders, including those of countries you haven’t heard of,” adding he called them back only after it was a done deal, saying “Sorry I didn’t call you back sooner.”
From Jerusalem embassy to elections: “You’re going to vote for me because you have no choice, even if you don’t like me... I know some of you don’t like me... you’re not going to vote for Pocahontas... you’re not going to vote for the wealth takers.”
“It was a great, great day,” Trump sums up opening of #Jerusalem embassy. “And to strengthen #Israel’s security, I recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights... 52 years I’ve been hearing about it, and we did it.”
Trump calls for return of Israelis soldiers from #Gaza, pays respect to Racheli Frenkel and Bat Galim Shayer, both are in the audience, who had their teenage boys murdered by #Hamas terrorists in 2014; then highlights the “pay for slay” bills passed to stop funding terrorists.
“I watched it, and it was an incredible sight,” Trump describes 68 special forces soldiers going after, and killing, #albaghdadi. Moves into praise of US military “most advanced and most powerful in the world,” which confronts “the brutal dictatorship in Iran.”
On Iran: “We can never give them a nuclear weapon, but maybe we can make a deal. The regime funds violence and chaos through the region,” and it “killed hundreds, maybe thousands, of its own people” as they protested for freedom and justice in the streets.
“We must not ignore the vial poison... my administration is committed to fighting antisemitism” with every tool at its disposal.

Trump also talks about the fight against #BDS, saying “international law does not prohibit settlements in the West Bank.”
Trump calls Adela Kochav (herself an immigrant from Mexico City) to stage, to talk about her legal fight against @NewYorkUniv for their “failure to protect their Jewish community” against #BDS and antisemitism.
Trump reverts to the “radical parts” who are pro-#BDS in the Democratic Party, saying “this couldn’t have happened 10 years ago, or 20 years ago... Americans will not stand for it.”

“As long as I’m your president, it’s not happening.”
.@POTUS invites Elan Carr, special envoy to combat antisemitism, who states: “we are confronting radical right and extreme left” displays of antisemitism.
“Jewish Americans have fought and bled in every fight in our history, including our fight for independence,” Trump says, listing the historic contribution of the Jewish community to the US - before pointing out a Jewish veteran in the audience.
Trump welcomes the Shalva band (composes of people with disabilities) to the stage, for special performance of “God Bless America.”
Conclusion:
1️⃣ Trump came prepared. Well prepared.
2️⃣ He touched upon all the pro-Israel points, as well as domestic (economy, immigration)
3️⃣ I doubt any other Jewish organization would welcome him this way
4️⃣ He spoke for almost an hour. Read into that what you want.
