The thing that frustrates me is that Policy Exchange have, for years, been producing these reports arguing for a watering down of human rights/judicial review. Where is the think thank countering it with as much media and political savvy?
There is a huge gap for this. The Conservative “commission” are blatantly going to take whatever Policy Exchange tell them to do becuase on rule of law issues that’s what’s been happening for years.
There just isn’t a counter narrative - becuase to develop one you need people, money and lobbying expertise like Policy Exchange have to bang the drum for years. And people will wonder after the human rights act is dismantled why we couldn’t get our stuff together
