In 14 weeks 8 of the 10 subjects loss thigh muscle mass despite maintaining body mass. Circumference was maintained so the thigh fat increased.
Why should we care? The short answer is that nothing good comes from muscle loss. All you get is an increased risk of frailty, sarcopenia, disability, chronic disease, cancer, and death.
