.@chennaipolice_, among the best police force in #India, has had some pretty ordinary and Laughable leadership. Unfortunately, this ends up affecting the force in all spheres of functioning. For instance, the insinuation that @gayatrikl is a #Pakistani agent

Yes, Mr. Commissioner, #ISI operatives have been instructed via a @ImranKhanPTI's circular that they should declare that they work for Pak firms on FB

If indeed it's true, @chennaipolice_ should be hauled up for dereliction of duty because, until @gayatrikl came out to draw a #KolamProtestAgainstCAA, the police didn't know her Pak connection!!! So, what are you doing in your social media monitoring cell?

The hindsight explanation by Mr. Viswanathan- not fact checked by ANY media - claims trouble arose when these elements tried to draw "anti CAA" slogans in front of the house of a "82 or 92 year old man, who protested." @chennaipolice_ subsequently intervened

Now, watch the two videos. One, where the arrests took place, and two, where @chennaipolice_ claim the arrests took place and you will know the best possible version of the truth. I'm not posting both because, in this thread, I hold that the police is not giving us the facts

Now, about #police in general: I've watched the functioning of force in #SriLanka, #Maldives, #Nepal and #Bangladesh, apart from #India. Everywhere, top jobs are for those who conform, meaning, police top leadership serves ends of a political master; it rarely serves the people

If a cop is out of favour, he/she should walk into sunset. Or, #Sanjeevbhat (in jail) , #NishanthaSilva (in exile) fate awaits. If you conform (R. K. Raghavan, int. czar when Rajiv was assassinated), you can become a diplomat. Less said about @Uppolice and the like, better
