General Staff of #Iran's Armed Forces has issues a statement saying that the #Ukrainian plane was "unintentionally" hit by a military site & based on "human error". The statement has offered "apology" to the families of victims & foreign nationals.

Khamenei managed to pull off this spectacle of unity & power by bussing in supporters from far & wide & coaching them beforehand on the choreography of the event. It went well except for one small glitch: President Rouhani left the event early.
The meaning of this early departure is unclear. Gullible Westerners (Obama & Kerry, for example) consider Rouhani a “moderate.” They will interpret this as his opposition, say, to Khamenei’s support for the IRGC over the Ukrainian airliner, or some other policy fight.
