In the aftermath of the release of U.S. president Donald Trump's "Deal of the Century," we at Al-Awda deem it necessary to issue a statement regarding the ill-fated proposal.
Although the proposal (#DealOfTheCentury) isn't worthy of acknowledgement, and is by no means a roadmap to restoring justice or instilling peace, we still feel a measured response is required by Al-Awda, The Palestine Right of Return Movement. 🇵🇸
There is absolutely nothing in the "peace plan" that is beneficial to Palestinians. It is an insult to the dignity of our people to suggest otherwise. It does not end the occupation, but rather attempts to absolve Israelis of the responsibility of the occupation of #Palestine🇵🇸
...By giving the Palestinians the faux title of "statehood." There isn't a hint of sovereignty anywhere in this proposal. It is apartheid disguised as a "concession," and a green light for Israeli annexation and land theft... 🇵🇸
...It is a cruel and cynical ploy that mocks the misery of the Palestinians.
The most egregious omission from the proposal is its failure to address the right of return of the refugees who are the descendants of the Nakba, when 800,000 of our people were forcibly expelled...🇵🇸

We encourage Palestinians in the U.S., and all supporters of our precious cause, to attend our rally in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, March 1st, in front of the White House (12PM), where we can tell president Trump and AIPAC what we think of their "Deal of the Century."🇵🇸
