So I abandoned the book I was hate-reading and I am now reading this which I plan on finishing.
In 2019, my reading goal was to read a book per week and by the end of the year, I’d read 52 novels. I read a few non-fiction books on the side.

I thought I wanted to keep that going this year but I now want to mix things up a bit with non-fiction and poetry.

There was something certain and soothing to focusing on novels. I was happy to give them most of my reading energy because god knows there’s enough “non-fiction” right here in TwitterLand. But there are memoirs and there’s so much poetry I need! #2020ReadingGoals

Members of the Lebanese indie rock band Mashrou' Leila had been scheduled to take part in a discussion at Northwestern University's Qatar campus on Tuesday, but the university moved the event to its U.S. campus after hostile online comments against Mashrou' Leila's appearance.

"Over population" is an argument for eugenics masked with environmentalism. It is eco-fascism and seemingly every liberal believes in it.
The originator of this hypothesis (Malthus) explicitly wrote it to counter the arguments of early (utopian) socialists, it's quite literally a counter revolutionary arguemnt, and one that both Marx and Kropotkin tore to shreds at least a century ago.
It then as of now obscures the reality of class society, blames the poor for their poverty, and ignores how the social reproduction of capitalism actually operates. It justifies massacres in the name of helping those who are supposedly too irresponsible to help themselves.

1/ Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’ (Save the Girl, Educate the Girl) programme, launched in January 2015, was the first time since India's independence in 1947 that the Indian government had raised the issue of female genocide in a public campaign.
2/ British census data in the 18th century had attributed India’s skewed #sexratio to female #infanticide and other forms of #femicide, such as sati, but after independence subsequent governments remained bizarrely indifferent to the issue even as it reached epidemic proportions.
