Hey is anyone familiar with Twitter's list search function, where you can search for tweets from members of a predetermined list?

For example, if you want to find "kitten" tweets from any of the 9 accounts in @Twitter's "Moments" list, you search "kittens list:twitter/moments"
@Twitter My question is how do you do it if the name of the list is multiple words? For example, Twitter has a list called "Tweets by Twitter" with twelve accounts twitter.com/i/lists/120735…

It would be hard to use Carter Page's FISA warrants to engage in "Survailence" [sic] of the Trump campaign, seeing as Page left the campaign in September, and the first FISA warrant wasn't filed until October.
Trump appears to be arguing that the Obama administration got a FISA warrant in October, and then time-traveled back to when the target of the warrant was actually working for the Trump campaign.

As Trump moves to push out another top national security official, it's worth remembering that Trump doesn't have a permanent director of national intelligence or principal deputy director. He has no DHS secretary, deputy DHS secretary, Secretary of the Navy, or DEA administrator
DNI: Resigned in August, no nominee

Dep DNI: same

DHS Secretary: Resigned last April, no nominee

Deputy Secretary: same

Navy Secretary: Resigned in November, nominee announced, but not referred to the Senate

DEA administrator: No nominee, ever
There are no nominees for the top three positions at DHS.

There are 34 positions at State with no nominee, including ambassador to Ukraine (a country the president is apparently deeply concerned about).

DoD has 11 top positions with no nominee.

I am trying my best to talk on layman language, avoiding too much of technical jargons, so that I can tell you what is this new social media service, how to join, choice of apps, etc.
First thing you should know that #mastodon is a decentralized social media platform.

That is the fundamental difference between of it from #twitter or #facebook.

A decentralized network, which means there is no central group with all of the power.

So here it is #fediverse
#mastodon isn’t just a website, it is a federation.

There are thousands, of small communities that live within the Mastodon system.

Each one is independent and unique, but they can all talk to one another.

These communities are called "INSTANCES".

Quick micro-thread on PDF and physical paper organizing. Despite my retweeting Dr. Rebecca Stone @stone_prof in self-deprecating jest, for the most part (95%), my printed papers and online PDFs are usually very organized. I'll tweet the two blog posts I wrote on this topic.
@stone_prof There is a reason why I *sometimes* (not often) download the same PDF twice (or three times!) - I have sub-folders for the articles/chapters/books I write, with a sub-sub-folder for PDFs associated with said chapter, as shown below. I do this to keep the citations list clear.
@stone_prof A lot of people have suggested to me that I should just have ONE big PDF library from where to draw (that's the Mendeley approach, I think Zotero too, and I used to do that while I was doing my PhD). As a grad student, I believed in that approach. As a professor, not so much.

Look, I'm not saying Biden's numbers won't be affected by voter scrutiny, but this survey is hot garbage. It's basically a push poll.

There's a difference between "testing his positions" and just straight-up feeding respondents attack ads against him. This is the latter.
For example, look at this question: "In 2005, Joe Biden voted to roll back bankruptcy protections, a move that disproportionately harmed women and single parents." That doesn't test his position. That straight-up tells respondents, hey, this candidate is bad because X.
This sort of polling is worthless because 1) it leads respondents by the nose to the conclusion the surveyors want to find, and 2) random stuff Biden did 15 years ago isn't necessarily a good proxy for what his position or his platform would be if he runs now.

@yudapearl Take the example above. You want to find a good research design to study the impact of military service on earnings. If you try to enumerate the variables that cause military service, there will be hundreds. Your DAG will grow and grow and you'll never find a backdoor strategy.
@yudapearl If instead you say, "Can I think of any variables that fit the template of a good IV?" Then you will say, "Aha!" The Vietnam draft fits that template. And now you have the core of an identification strategy which you can refine with an explicit DAG.
@yudapearl If you might say, "How can I study the impact of class size on student achievement?" You write a DAG listing all the determinants of class size. After the first 150,000 variables, you start to worry. Maybe there isn't any back-door strategy. There are too many confounders!
