If the Trump Administration decides to reduce U.S. forces to around 8,600 in Afghanistan, I would totally support such a decision as conditions on the ground justify a reduction.

However, I completely agree with @gen_jackkeane and others that civil war will break out in Afghanistan and international terrorism will surge if America announces a complete withdrawal that is not conditions-based.
I hope and believe the Trump Administration has learned much from Obama’s Iraq debacle where he withdrew all U.S. military forces against sound military advice.
Terrorist groups in Afghanistan -- ISIS-K and al-Qaeda -- have been marginalized but still have their sights set on attacking the U.S. homeland and our allies.
