House Dems: We are so chill. We are so cool with this. We are not overreacting. Please voters, see that we are not overreacting.

House Dems: Ah, I know what went wrong. We weren't chill enough.
The underlying psychological impulse governing Democratic politics is "fear." Every decision is made fearfully. It leads inexorably towards inaction and paralysis. Even faced with immediate danger, all they can think about is how things could go wrong.
Trump will steal the election if Democrats let him. He's doing it right now, in plain view, barely denying it. But all Democrats can think about is how trying to stop him might backfire. They are overcome by fear, reduced to hoping the problem solves itself.
