Returning via @DFWAirport from an abruptly truncated lecture series in the UK yesterday, I was expecting the worst after reading the online horror stories -- but from the door of the arriving plane to the gate of our domestic connection took only 23 min. (cont'd)
The immigration hall that on Saturday had been packed wall-to-wall with hundreds of people had maybe a hundred in it, with empty machines and just a few minute's wait to see an officer. But the health screening was minimal ...
On the plane we were asked to complete this form stating if we'd been in China - nowhere else. Isn't that a little out of date?! 
When we landed we were told we needed to wait for a health official before disembarking, but five minutes later we were all let off.

I'm relieved to be home, grateful for the wonderful Irish colleagues I was able to see, but sad to have missed my visits and lectures at Edinburgh, St Andrews, Leeds, Newcastle, Durham and Glasgow. Please stay safe my friends and let's make this happen via low-carbon video soon!
(Just to be clear: yes, immigration + customs were operating as usual but the process was identical to pre-corona except for handing in the above form; and no, the bottom half of the form above was not completed by a screener and I was not asked any questions about my health)
(and also to be clear - although there was no request or directive made at any time to self-quarantine either to me or to others I know who were in a Schengen area and returned to the US the last few days, I am going to anyways because every bit helps. But I'll be here online!)
