I have been meaning to pen down my thoughts but hesitated thinking who would be interested in reading them. After all, I am not a twitter celebrity or a prolific writer nor do I have a blue tick.

After some deliberation, I am posting this thread.
#lockdown
LOCKDOWN
1/ It has been more than ten days since the lockdown of my apartment building announced a few days before Modiji. Initially it came as a shock to all the residents. It should be no surprise that none of us was prepared for this sudden step.
2/ However, we all decided to comply as it was a precautionary step and for the safety of all residents. Entry of all outsiders was banned including restaurant & courier delivery boys, maids, sweeper, etc. Basically, no entry to anyone. 🙄
3/ So the residents have to run downstairs upto the main gate to receive deliveries of the necessary items - groceries, medicines, newspapers, etc.

Thus, we were completely cut-off from the outside world. Thank God for tv & internet, right? 😀
4/ Soon the national #lockdown followed. Its first day was kind of odd. The streets were empty and not a soul was roaming on the roads as far as I could see. There was utter silence as if doomsday had arrived. Thankfully, the birds have no idea of corona. 😁
5/ They have been cheerfully chirping away the entire day everyday! You might think I am crazy but I feel their chirps are happier & louder. It is quite possible that they find this sudden absence of humans & vehicles quite pleasing. 😍
6/ This lockdown has provided ample time to ponder over many aspects of life. Let me begin with the most important one.

Love them or hate them, we are bound forever with our family. 🤭

When was the last time you spent so much time with your family?
7/ No, I am not talking about vacations or weddings or get togethers. Just quality time with our loved ones.

Husbands and wives taking care of children together, doing house chores in turns, teaching kids the value of manual labour,
8/ grandparents being taken care of, time for indulging in hobbies & lots of playtime with kids. In short, time to do whatever we had always wished for! 💖

This is a golden opportunity. We still have two more weeks in our hands. Let's make the most of it.
9/ This lockdown has proved that it is possible to work from home. For most people anyway. And it is not necessary to commute daily to work?

Shouldn't this become the norm? Attend office once or twice a week and work from home the other days?
10/ It will be less stressful & will also increase productivity due to higher employee satisfaction. This will also reduce traffic on roads & pollution.

Not sure if corporates would consider this. Maybe I am expecting too much. But I am allowed to hope. 🙂
11/ Corona has made people realise the value of health & importance of staying fit. Many have started working out in their homes and eating healthy.

It is necessary to be healthy to be able to perform our duties & live life to the fullest.
12/ Empty handed we came, with empty hands we will leave this earth. Cliche, right? But true.

No amount of wealth or power can buy us time. No one has been able to bribe death! Ever.

Time to sort our priorities & realise the worth of love, family & health.
13/ While we are stressing over #coronavirus Mother Earth is healing. Due to many lockdowns around the world, there are less cars, less planes and less pollution.

Various photos & videos of animals reclaiming their space has been shared on social media. 😍
14/ The things we take for granted have suddenly become luxuries.

We can manage with one veggie instead of two per meal, I can survive without pizzas and burgers (not that I eat too much junk food but still 😁).

While we enjoy our sumptuous (now frugal)
15/ meals, there are less fortunate people out there who depend on others for food.

We have roof over our heads while many live on streets. Groceries, hospitals, petrol pumps and banks are open for our convenience.

Let us be grateful for our blessings.
16/ It is a difficult time for us and many people might be panicking. However, it is important to understand that nothing is permanent in this world & this time too shall pass.

With this thought I wish to end my thread. Thank you for reading. 🙏🏻
