Breeding ground for racism is hopelessness. GOP manipulates it, blaming "the other," sucking in votes of the hopeless, then serving their donor masters.

Democrats ignore it, point accusing finger, scream "racist!" & walk away. USA is doomed until economic hopelessness addressed.
..the solution isn't found by saying the hopeless should just move, or go to college, or by belittling their faith. It doesn't come from blaming immigrants and Muslims. It doesn't come from promising to rebuild industries that died for economic/technology reasons. It....
...comes by facing that the cultures, values and needs of someone born and raised in Arkansas are dramatically different from someone born and raised in Los Angeles. When Democrats call for free college, they are speaking to the 30% of the more well-to-do, not the 70% who are...
...struggling and have no interest in going to college. When people are told to move from their communities - the foundation of their lives -- in pursuit of jobs, the teller is showing elitist incomprehension of other lives and values. When u say words like "redneck"....
...white trash, etc, you are using hateful slurs. One party, I don't care who, needs to face this problem. The Democrats were the ones who historically did. Now they ignore it for fifty-five point policy papers that mean next to nothing to people's real lives....
...the key: We have massive infrastructure work that needs to be done, in every state. Democrats need to campaign in the south, standing on dilapidated roads, next to decaying bridges, point to the crowds and say "we need to hire YOU to fix this." We need to increase taxes....
...on the wealthiest among us to pay for all we have allowed to decay. We need to change public education to meet the actual needs of communities. Erasmus High School in Brooklyn - one of the greatest public schools -- in the 1950s offered three programs that recognized...
...different people had different goals. They were general education, college prep, and trade education. Why are we testing kids on American history who want to learn how to be an electrician? We don't have apprentice programs anymore. Public schools could provide that....
...education for the people who want it, rather than being told what they want to do. Opportunity and economic security will fix what ails us. But both parties spend all their time appealing to the most fortunate - the 1% for the GOP, the 20% for the Dems - and ignore this....
...huge population, denigrating them with insults.

Sometimes the solutions to our problems come from recognizing that we all share spots in the same boat. We can point our fingers at others and scream they are at fault. But the truth is, we all are.
