Our FREE Information Session about the Canadian Immigration Process starts now!

Last week we explained how you can determine if you can move to Canada as a permanent resident under the Express Entry system. If you missed it, please visit bit.ly/2CcMSPm #ImmigrationCorner
In summary, Express entry system is the Canadian immigration system by which about one million skilled permanent residents would be accepted into the country & it (among other things) provides a pathway to Canadian citizenship (3years after permanent residency) #ImmigrationCorner
After you have found yourself eligible to apply (as explained last week), the next thing is to create an Express Entry profile using the official website of Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). You need all your information ready at this point. #ImmigrationCorner
You will be required to answer a few questions to ascertain your eligibility to live in Canada as a skilled immigrant and work in a skilled job.Details available at bit.ly/2EGIueb and the six (6) eligibility factors available at bit.ly/2iGd8O4 #ImmigrationCorner
The Express Entry profile is a form through which you provide all information about your skills, education, language ability, work experience and other details used in determining your eligibility for the immigration program. #ImmigrationCorner
Once you start an Express Entry Profile, you have 60 days to complete it, the information provided in the profile will help the Government of Canada authenticate your eligibility and accept you into the pool of candidates #ImmigrationCorner
Upon completion of your Express Entry Profile and acceptance into the pool of candidates, you are awarded a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which is generated based on the information provided and you are provided a ranking in the Express Entry Pool #ImmigrationCorner
You will also be given a Jobseeker code to start promoting yourself to employers in the Job Bank. The Express Entry system does not come with an automatic job for candidates, but there are tools to match you with employers looking for workers with your skills #ImmigrationCorner
Whether you get a job offer or not, your chances of having a successful permanent residence application are not affected. 90% of those who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the first half of 2017 did not have a Canadian job offer #ImmigrationCorner
We suggest you complete your Express Entry Profile as soon as possible. It is FREE and can be done in few hours if you are eligible & have all your info ready. It is also best to do this to know your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score & get into the pool! #ImmigrationCorner
Periodic draws are then done to invite the highest-ranking candidates in the pool to apply to become permanent residents in Canada. Our observation has revealed that these draws are done bi-weekly on a Wednesday. The last draw was on Feb 7, 2018 #ImmigrationCorner
On the day of the draw, a Ministerial Instruction is issued by the Minister of Immigration to announce the CRS score used for draw & number of eligible candidates. All candidates who meet the score, or above would potentially receive an invitation to apply (ITA) #ImmigrationCorner
The last draw done on Feb 7, 2018 was the 83rd draw since Express Entry started in 2015. A CRS score of 442 was used & 3,000 candidates were invited to become permanent residents! Since inception, the total number of candidates invited since 2015 is now 159,368 #ImmigrationCorner
So far, the lowest CRS score used was 413 at the 65th draw on May 31, 2017. 3,877 candidates received Invitation to Apply (ITAs) at the draw. Going by our observation, the next draw would potentially be on Wednesday, Feb 21, 2018. Get Ready! #ImmigrationCorner
After receiving an ITA, you have 90 days to provide all the documents to support the information used in filling your Express Entry profile. Evidence of your degrees, work experience, settlement funds, English language test score etc, are required at this point #ImmigrationCorner
Other documents that may be required after receiving your Invitation and ready to submit your application are your Education Credential Assessment (ECA), medical exams, and police (character) certificate. A detailed list of these documents is available at bit.ly/2sz3pgD
You will also be required to pay your processing/application fee of $550 and $490 for your Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) when your application is approved. You have the option of paying both or just the application fee ($550) to begin with. #ImmigrationCorner
If you pay only the processing fee when submitting an application, you must pay the $490 for your Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) before permanent resident documents are issued. For applicants with children, no additional fees for dependent children #ImmigrationCorner
You must pay the fees through your online account using a debit or credit card. Your processing fee will not be refunded once the processing of your application has started. But if your application isn’t complete, IRCC will tell you & refund your processing fee #ImmigrationCorner
You can also decline an Invitation to Apply (ITA) if all your documents are not ready before the 90 days required to accept the invitation. The implication is, you are sent back into the pool & eligible for another ITA if you meet the CRS score for the new draw #ImmigrationCorner
Your Express Entry profile is valid for one year, meaning you can stay in the pool in anticipation of an eligible draw with your CRS score for one year. After this period, you can submit a new profile. If you still meet the criteria, you will re-enter the pool. #ImmigrationCorner
If your CRS score is low while in the pool, you are advised to seek other means of improving your scores. You can seek a provincial nomination, job offer, higher degree, or higher English test score. You can update your profile to reflect the changes anytime! #ImmigrationCorner
The IRCC has set a 6 months processing time for all applications to be completed after documents are provided and fees paid. Recently, processing time has been as fast as one-month. Processing time starts after ITA has been accepted and all documents submitted! #ImmigrationCorner
We hope you find our FREE information useful & prepare yourself to take advantage of this opportunity made available by the Government of Canada to live, work and contribute to the economy of Canada as a skilled immigrant. Permit us to end today's session here. #ImmigrationCorner
