1. Draft treaty from Brussels will ruffle feathers today, no doubt about that - crucial to see whether EU has actually dropped the language that fudged it in December

3. Govt expected to dismiss today’s draft as being just that and Brexiteers have been given private assurances that govt position hasn’t and won’t change - and about speech on Friday

1. Deeply embarassing for govt to be beaten just before Brexit debate gets going again, but does it affect what they will actually have to do if they lose next Tuesday?
2. PM was always likely to have had to make a statement either next Tues night after a defeat or on Weds morning, or at v least at PMQs about what govt was going to do next - several Cabinet ministers suggest that will only be 'we'll have another go' with the same plan
3. PM will now have to present an actual proposal again, even if it's basically a reheat, to MP s within a few days, so it accelerates the time scale even if the issues aren't any different

1. As it is a big Brexit day there is of course a big process row before it all gets going
2. Dominic Grieve and others want to force Govt to reveal their Brexit plan B within days if they are defeated next week - using an amendment today on the govts plan
3. Because of way the debate traditionally goes if is a huge deal if Speaker allows backbenchera to try to do that at this stage - big precedent to set

1. Open the notebook back up at the last page before Christmas in Westminster and it doesn't feel like there many new lines that need to be written
2. No 10 trying to eke out more reassurances on time line of backstop from EU, and find a way to make MPs feel they'll have more of a say
3. EU has no intention of major change to legal agreement that's been sweated over - nor do MPs show sign yet of swinging behind May's compromise deal in anything like the number it would take to give her a real shot at getting it thro next week

Her point on context of data collection, limited choices certainly points back to the Google Data Collection research @DCNorg distributed which showed it’s near impossible to avoid Google collecting your data. This requires a higher bar.

The French data protection authority has issued the first formal guidance on the relationship between #blockchain and the #GDPR in the #EU.

1. The @CNIL makes clear that its goal issuing this publication is to provide concrete guidance to actors in the space. This is to be applauded. Many in this space try to build compliant systems but are having a hard time figuring out what this entails.
2. *Data controllers*: unsurprising: where users directly engage with the ledger they can sometimes be controllers.

This, however, is only so where natural or legal persons exercise a professional or commercial activity (broad interpretation of household activity).

Dear @maddow: before you pushed this RICO thing, did you check to see whether that's stock carve-out language from plea agreements in SDNY?

Because, @maddow, federal plea agreements have lots of stock language that's been in there forever. Often nobody remembers why. It might have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the case. Fortunately there are many SDNY practitioners who could answer this. So you asked one, right?
I mean, @maddow, if you just seized on some stock language from an agreement you didn't understand, without asking anyone who did understand, and used it to go on national TV to promote a fatuous "HEY LOOK RICO" narrative --

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
The Mom and Dad now have once weekly Skype calls with their 8-month-old baby. That's right, folks. They Skype with an infant. #EndFamilySeparation #FamiliesBelongTogether
