In writing this book it’s becoming more and more obvious how conservative messaging played on white evangelical fears of Revelation to paint Barack Obama as the antichrist.
The continual “he thinks he’s a savior, a messiah” rhetoric combined paranoid fantasies of a New World Order takeover with white male racist insecurities.
When Trump said Obama wasn’t an American it wasn’t just invalidating his presidency, it was hinting that a conspiracy had placed him there. This laid the groundwork for the globalist narrative we’re now inundated with.
Obama and company weren’t failing because of incompetency, this narrative hinted at, it was because of larger, more nefarious means.
This evangelical string, which I grew up in, was prepped since birth to look for End Times, which would be a cataclysmic battle between a world government and the people. All the globalist rhetoric is centered on this.
When they said Obama was forming camps, it was with an eye toward the rise of a satanic world government. Sovereignty was another dog whistle.
By now the evangelical base has been convinced they’re in an End Times struggle. Obama and company are the Satanic side and anyone opposing them, including Trump, is virtually infallible.
If you don’t believe it, google images of Trump and Christ. There’s already an abundance of art and literature that ties the two together. This is only possible in a dichotomous good/evil situation, which is all centered on End Times rhetoric.
And here’s the more frightening aspect: these people believe anything that hastens the end of the world is a great thing. It makes Trump’s nuclear provocations and saber rattling that much more appealing.
Invalidating a nuclear treaty with Iran, provoking the Arab world with embassies, brinksmanship - in this narrative it’s not just preferred, it’s godly.
I’ve written extensively on the Trump Movement being a cult, which it is, but it might be time to realize a good part of that cult is actually apocalyptic in nature, and when you consider who Trump is, and how cults with leaders who are above all self-preserving...
With other cults it’s mass suicide in the face of opposition, but those false messiahs only slaughtered their flocks. We have a president on whom the consequences are approaching. Multiple times he’s inferred he’s fated and chosen by God.
These things are cyclical and predictable. They happen time and again, only not on this scale. The End Times worldview is sewn deep into the Right and it’s time to discuss just what that could mean for the rest of us.
