If we hope to survive as a culture, we have to truly internalize the truth of @GreatDismal's Klept.

The elite are transnational. They live in Expatria, a luxury distributed nation of de-facto islands.

The rich always owned politics, but they used to be local. No longer.

Every time you ask "How can X do this", or "Why is Y being allowed to happen", you're being a parochial fool, which is exactly how they need to keep you.

It's impossible to lead a country with an open media -- that is, a country under Klept control -- and not be a traitor.

And that's assuming that the leader in question isn't an actual part of the Klept. Tr*mp is Klept out and out. He's not a traitor, he's just not American.

The Klept are more powerful than national-tier government, but larger bodies like NATO and the EU are still troublesome.

That's why we're seeing the EU unravel, seeing NATO falter, seeing NAFTA undermined, even seeing federal US policies designed to push rich states into seceding from the union.

The Klept want us easier to squash.

Until we collectively process this, and see the incredible danger our societies are in, we can't even begin to try to see if there's a way to resist, let alone stop it.

One thing we can do NOW is stop drinking the Kool-aid.

Stop expressing outrage and asking why and calling the perpetrators idiots and malingerers. STOP PUNCHING YOURSELF IN THE FACE, DAMMIT.

The answer is "The Klept."
Now start asking some _useful_ questions, like "Is there anything we can do?"

Or, y'know, don't, and get used to thirty to fifty years of very precarious, unpleasant serfdom as we shed 85% of the global population.
