Having had a big part of my career be covering political scandals, I’ll say this. Jordan was loathesome and predatory before any of this came up. And he failed those kids. So I have no particular sympathy for him. But his evolving story is another example of basic point.
2/ Every pol, when faced with a bad story, should be forced to have a lengthy cooling off period only trusted staff, before they say anything really dumb. Because quite often they say something really dumb. Maybe also dishonest or evil, sure. But also dumb.
3/ Did it happen? Did a lot of people know about, Jim? Over the years how many people did you talk about this with in locker room conversations? At least three dozen, you say? Maybe nine dozen? Jim, the flat denial ain’t gonna wear well. And the deep state stuff ain’t gonna fly.
