In times like these, we remember Cde Joshua Nkomo who went to rest on 1 July 1999. This is part of Nkomo's speech in 1984 while addressing ZAPU central committee. Retweet @qhelisumuzi

Comrades, this dissident issue had been used to cover up and promote a reign of terror of the most appalling and disgraceful nature. I do not have to tell you about it. Many, if not most of you, have in one way or another been victims.
What are we to say about the slaughter of children, the raping of mothers and sisters, the torture of old men and women. What are we to say about the Balagwe torture centre, the Antelope Mine mass graves?
Comrades we can only say what our consciences & our love for our people and our country demand. We can only say what mankind demands. We can only say what thousands of victims of this slaughter demand. We say, enough. We accuse the perpetrators of this crime before all the world.
We vow that they will one day be brought to justice. And comrades, we appeal to all patriots. We appeal to all decent humane and humble folk, to the people of Zimbabwe to act now and stop this insanity before it destroys us all.
We do not have to document the slaughter which this government has unleashed on the people .The whole world knows the truth. And comrades, the Ministers who deny it also know the truth.
Like the German fascists who claimed to know nothing of the extermination camps during the Second World War they will one day have to answer to mankind.
Comrades, the unspeakable crimes which have been committed since independence have been committed in the name of the Zimbabwe revolution. I would like to quote a few words from Comrade Fidel Castro on the subject of revolution:
"Our revolution has always been very transparent and very clean. In our revolution torture was never allowed; our revolution never committed crimes; in our revolution no one ever disappeared; in our revolution there was never a state of emergency.
No battalion was ever moved into the streets here to battle against workers, peasants or students. The people were always in the streets, yes, they were always in the streets, but with the revolution."
Can our government say this? Can the ZANU leadership say this? No, they cannot. Their hands are stained with the blood of our people. No genuine revolution spills the blood of the people. genuine progressive movement recruits members with a bayonet.
If the ZANU leadership intend to behave like fascists, we cannot call them anything but fascists.
Comrades, the next stage in this mindless pursuit of power is the establishment of a one party state in Zimbabwe.
