The true story about Corbyn's wreath-laying that no-one seems to want to mention is that he laid his wreath at the grave of a man who was killed by Abu Nidal Organisation on Saddam Hussein's orders for working for the CIA.
Salah Khaled, aka Abu Iyad, may or may not have been the boss of Black September, which carried out Munich in 1972 - almost certainly was, according to numerous accounts.
But he and Arafat shut down Black September not long after. According to one "fanciful but who knows" account he de-radicalised its foot-soldiers by giving them cash (and brides) to marry.
He later became a supporter of the Oslo peace accords, more pragmatic than Yasser Arafat. He opposed Arafat over the 1990-91 Gulf War (Arafat supported Saddam, he didn't).
According to this account, published after his death, he ended up working for the CIA, as an informant and in particular to undermine Abu Nidal, the most extreme Palestinian organisation, and its relationship with Saddam. articles.chicagotribune.com/1991-03-21/new…
For this, he and the two men buried alongside him were assassinated in 1991 by a guard who had been suborned by Abu Nidal. Contrary to Mr Corbyn's (apparently very confused) understanding, they were not killed by Mossad.
Ironically, he is therefore just the sort of terrorist-turned-peacemaker who would fit Mr Corbyn's regular claim to be consorting with militants to urge peace. But he can't say so, now he's denied laying the wreath at Abu Iyad's grave (which photos clearly show him laying).
In fact, it probably serves absolutely no-one's interest to say Abu Iyad was a CIA agent (of some sort). End of a thread which I may be alone in finding interesting.
