To the person @AltWASONPS is talking, you aren't alone. WASO is an incredible person, and is with you. And there are so many more of us who don't even know you, who are with you. All of our stories are different, but we can come out the other side together
I've been there, too. I lived for a couple decades with consistent emotional abuse and sleep deprivation. I prided myself on having thick skin and being able to shrug it off. But over the years, nobody can sustain indefinitely. I started to fall apart
My mind started to turn off, my memory faded. I would show up at work and couldn't remember the name of the project I led. By the end of the sentence someone was saying to me, I couldn't remember the start of it. One day I couldn't copy a one digit number without forgetting it
The stress and anxiety and depression were taking over, and I couldn't function. Then I started seeing the effects the environment was having on my kids, and had to make a change. Like WASO said, nothing is easy, and recovery is never instant. But I came out the other side
I went through very dark times for many years. And didn't know if I would make it. I'm now a single father of amazing kids who are doing great. As I recovered, my mind did as well, and I've moved up to an amazing and challenging job that I love and (I hope) I'm doing great at
I don't know what you're going through, and I know my experience and WASO's experience are not the same as yours. But I promise you you can make it. Hang in there. There are many out here who love you and support you, and will help you get through. You can do it. You aren't alone
