I once spent a few hours on a possible @GB2d article on the history of “all errors are mine” author footnote comments. /1
1st uses were from the 40s, generally in the context where there might be authorship confusion (so use of it made sense). /2
By the 90s, every possible “all errors are mine” joke had been tried. All errors are their fault, etc. Authors still use the jokes, thinking they’re new; they’re not. /3
