Earlier this week it was Mercedes talking maps, now it is being applied to banking in the Russian Federation ... in between, I've heard about the UN, healthcare and ... oh, it's fascinating stuff ->
... next week, I've got 450 mappers turning up from all over the world for Map Camp - eventbrite.com/e/map-camp-201…
... also, my apologies for the people who didn't get a ticket on the waitlist. I did manage to give about 80% the opportunity (though many didn't take it) but we only have 450 spaces and over 800 people wanted to attend (despite deliberately spending $0 on marketing) ...
... next year, I promise we will find a bigger venue, over two days, with different workstreams / un-conference components. Though I'll have to find a specialist company to take this on as managing an event for 800+ is way out of my comfort zone and even this was a struggle.
I'm pretty certain I can fill entire workstreams on different topics - mapping in healthcare, finance (M&A), IT, purchasing, policy decisions and Gov etc. And maybe a more advanced track where I can finally get to do something on mapping and strategy or culture or both.
But let me not rush ahead ... first job is this years map camp. Then one in Scotland, one in Atlanta and also recent talk of one in San Francisco.
