The media-preferred ex-GOP pundits who now say you have to vote for Dems regardless of candidate quality or specifics are like an ex who got cheated on so she now calls random girls she sees among his Facebook friends to demand they don’t date her ex OR any of his friends.
Only in this example they get paid and cheered on to make those calls, which most reasonable people realize are insane and ridiculous.
“If you date my ex’s third cousin then you are basically validating the cheating! They still have family dinners together!

You have to date this other random serial cheater because he never cheated on me. That’s the only way to really send a message!”
That’s just not accurate. There about 6-8 pundits in this camp. Most of them were no-names or minor figures until recently. Neither Will not Krauthammer, both brilliant, would ever advocate for voting straight Dem regardless of the candidates in the race.
Example: Will, who has been very critical of Trump and GOP, just wrote this column praising Hawley. sltrib.com/opinion/commen…

Suggesting someone vote against others based solely on the letter next to their name is symptom of a tantrum, not an informed or principled strategy.
Exactly. It’s almost the guaranteed result of such behavior, which should tell you a lot about the people advocating for it. The R’s who would lose are the least Trumpy so they are incentivizing both parties to become more extreme.
Reasonable people should want two strong parties, instead of destroying one. That’s why I’ve spent years advocating for Dems to change direction despite their current direction benefitting R’s immensely (see elections since 2010).
Correct. Bc he understands how ridiculous and illogical that strategy is and his goal isn’t simply to appease a liberal audience. As he noted the other day, the correct approach is to judge each race individually based on the candidates in that race:
This makes no sense. You can’t claim to want to bring back that Republican Party while also demanding ppl vote against Republicans exactly like that because they have an R by their name. Again, if anything this strategy would make R’s less like that.
One thing that some don't seem to understand, and what really annoys many of us, is this small group of hacks are profiting from pretending to represent us while making actual principled conservatives look bad by playing into the worst stereotypes:
