This is not an easy time. Too heavy. Too many tears! 😢

Now mourning the death of an incredible man, #NoahKlieger, who just passed away, age 92! Noah was also a dear friend!

This is a short thread about this incredible human being! 1/
Noah was born in Europe, fought in the Underground during WWII, survived Auschwitz (where he became friends with Elie Wiesel), was part of historic Exodus ship and then came to Israel and built his life here. 2/
Noah fought in wars (starting with Israel's War of Independence), became a pioneer journalist with @YediotAhronot (his last article was just 3 days ago) and an educator, speaking out against Antisemitism & leading over 150 delegations to Auschwitz! He always had time for you. 3/
Noah was also an incredible story teller.

I recall once speaking with him about some very mundane matter and then, as if out of nowhere, he goes "so, that time i was having coffee with Menachem Begin in Jerusalem in 1948" ....

4/
In 2016, I was blessed with @israelicongress to help film a documentary about Noah's life.

We filmed an entire week with him in Auschwitz alone. And then released the film in Tel Aviv, with over 400 people attending (diplomats, soldiers, young adults ... Survivors).

5/
It was with the greatest of honour i had to speak at the release in Israel of Noah's documentary 'Boxing for Life' (the title is based on his incredible story of survival, where he boxed in Auschwitz, never having boxed before, as means to survive).

6/
This is what I had said at the release of the documentary on his life, still having shivers just thinking about it.

7/
My remarks to Noah:

"Noah's journey in so many ways reflects the story of the State of Israel. It is a story of survival, of immense courage, bravery, hope and inspiration. But above al, a tenacious fighting spirit!

8/
"Noah said once that not a day goes by that he does not ask himself 'Why me? Why me?' But that his only answer to this is that he survived to tell his story and make it his 'personal mission' that the world "does not forget the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust."

9/
Baruch Dayan Emet dear Noah.

May your memory and tenacious spirit always be a blessing, inspiration and less to us all.

I, the Jewish people and the State of Israel will miss you deeply.

Yours,
Arsen
