Advice on #Settled Status for #EU27Citizens:
1/ If you have not done so yet, register with the HO email notification service - click link on this page gov.uk/settled-status…. #WATON #IamEuropean @yEUrRights
2/ The scheme seems to be OPEN NOW to EUCitizens that have been here for more than 5 years! We should mass apply - they want to test the system, so test we shall.
3/ I had no communication from the HO on this at all, unlike previous emails I received regarding Settled Status, so they seem to try and keep this low key. We need to document our experiences and copy in the relevant campaign groups as well as our EU representatives! 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
4/ This is exactly what we feared - that many EU citizens will be disadvantaged because of poor information and the assumption that they access to web or SM. @ukhomeoffice knows who we are and how long we have been here- why not inform us a timely manner + offer assistance?

2/ Since the referendum we meticulously collated facts, enlisted people who know their stuff - from politicians over scientists, business owners, teachers and healthcare professionals.All walks of life, all nationalities represented in modern Britain
3/ We presented facts, figures, estimates, graphs, cartoons.... you name it. Even songs and breakfasts. We reached out and stayed patient when we were yelled at and called enemies of the people. Some people were assaulted.

Still on track with my predictions from last year.
1/ Gov most successfully managed to stall negotiations while throwing a mirade of conflicting promises around to keep us entertained. At the same time the distractions increase in outlandishness>
2/ Russia, Irish Border chaos (I do not believe for a second they do not have a plan for this), throwing in random arms deals to keep up appearances. All the while: Davis did not visit Brusssels once this year, EU had to suspend negotiations, ..>
3/ All this with 4 months left until summer recess. In September it will ve too late for anything but either hard or no Brexit. We have not heard any substantial suggestions from Gov for a few weeks now, and we have stopped being demanding because...>

1/ A new development in the Crytek v CIG lawsuit.

Back on Dec 6th, 2018, the judge had ruled overwhelmingly in favor of CIG as to their response to the Second Amended Complaint filed by Crytek.

2/ The judge's decision was based on notes in her previous Aug 14, 2018 ruling in which she issued a 2/7 ruling in favor of Crytek's First Amended Complaint which was the crux of the entire lawsuit.

3/ In her Dec ruling which was based on a single section 2.4 dispute, she had given Crytek leave to amend their complaint and file a third amendment in support of their claims that CIG was effectively engaged in advertising their own engine in violation of the agreement.

1/ Lawful residence in the context of Settled Status and why government claim that EU #citizensrights of ALL 3.4m EU citizens are sorted is incorrect - a thread
2/ in today's #PMQs the Prime Minister said the following:

"I’m absolutely clear that EU citizens living lawfully in the UK today will be able to stay"

See those little words there: "living lawfully"
3/ to the British public this may sound reasonable - those not deeply involved in the matter will hear 'lawfully' as being EU citizens who are not criminals. An assumption easily made.

1/ Myth buster: EU citizens registration

The press, politicians and depending on context even we talk about the registration of the 3m EU citizens in the UK. This is factually wrong though
2/ The process proposed by the UK Gov through Settled Status and agreed by the EU in principle via the UK/EU agreement in December is everything but a registration. Neither is it a guarantee of our rights
3/ the UK/EU agreement on #citizensrights effectively completely strips EU citizens of their rights acquired through EU law. Settled Status replaces and reduces these rights. Most importantly though it requires EU citizens to apply.

It's #Brexit talks (sorry, er "stock-taking") again, where the sticking point is EU's €60,000,000,000 demand for a financial settlement.

So in that context, can someone at Home Office/HMG please explain?... 1/Thread
....why the UK is handing the EU such easy point by demanding EU citizens each pay up to £72.50 to register for 'settled status'.

That's up to £362.50 for a family of five hard-working, tax-paying EU citizens to accommodate a political choice they did not seek /2
