It took me 30 seconds to determine that in @AdyBarkan’s story in defense of @IlhanMN — about the 2006 campaign he was working on which he claims supposedly sold out to AIPAC for $5000 — his candidate raised $1,029,796.74 in contributions that cycle.

I literally just went to FEC(dot)gov, typed in his candidates name, clicked on 2006 (she has run multiple times), and it showed that she had over $1 million in contributions that 2006 congressional cycle... of which $5000 was supposedly from AIPAC. This took me mere seconds.

BTW — the Democrats are currently blocking the move by Republicans to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Speaking on the floor of the Senate, @BenSasse says that if the move for unanimous consent continues to be blocked then he will fight for a roll call vote.
There’s currently an absence of a quorum so there is a pause in the proceedings — let me go back and provide some quotes from the Senate floor speeches that have been given so far relating to the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

The Washington Post was allegedly aware of allegations against Justin Fairfax but declined to run it b/c they couldn’t corroborate it, so a reminder that it was, you guessed it, the Washington Post who first ran Christine Ford’s uncorroborated allegations.

I see lots of discussion of drugs coming into the U.S. but little discussion of how it happens, so I pulled stats from CBP, which breaks it down by drug type & mode of seizure— Office of Field Ops (mostly ports of entry) vs. Border Patrol. Thread. (1/7)

In FY2017, 71677 pounds of cocaine were seized by Customs & Border Protection coming into the country. 62331 pounds (~87%) of cocaine were seized at ports of entry etc. while 9346 pounds (~13%) of cocaine were seized by Border Patrol. (2/7)

1. Condemning the Israeli gov and its attempt to influence US policy is no different than condemning the USG and its foreign policy or condemning Saudi Arabia and its influence over the USG. It's not a Jewish thing. Its a corruption thing. I say that as a Jew.
2. It's really dangerous to equate the Israeli government with Judaism and with Jewish people who are nationals of other countries. In fact, the Israeli gov frequently endorses people and movements in the US who are actual anti-Semites and puts American Jews in jeopardy.
3. Case in point: Supporting Trump because it will help Israel at the expense of American Jews, who have seen a rise in hate crimes as a result. Israel is a nation with a Jewish identity and a Jewish population, but it certainly does not speak for Jews all over the world.
