@real_NoahLewis @SteveBakerHW Because she wrote up and negotiated her withdrawal proposals (poss with Merkel) behind the backs of her DexEU ministers of state. She bumped her Cabinet into agreeing them at Chequers by giving them 24 hours to read them and agree or resign.
@real_NoahLewis @SteveBakerHW She had to do it that way because her cabinet, ministers and party wouldn’t have agreed to her version of Brexit had she properly included and consulted them - hence the consistent voting down of this Withdrawal Agreement
@real_NoahLewis @SteveBakerHW Furthermore, she made 2 unforgivable negotiating errors - one agreeing to the EUs order of negotiation (no future relationship talks until money and backstop sorted) and secondly, agreeing the wording that there had to be an agreed backstop to prevent a “hard” Irish border.
@real_NoahLewis @SteveBakerHW These things were all agreed by her and her close inner circle with an inappropriate degree of consultation which would have allowed people to point out the grave error of approach
@real_NoahLewis @SteveBakerHW She has directly misled the public by making statement after statement that no deal is better than a bad deal despite information suggesting she never believed that to be true and evidenced by her abject failure to prepare for and reassure about no deal.
