Thread: Our first challenge this week is to design a simple, icon style graphic of an animal. Basic shapes can take on visual meaning quickly and can be super useful.
As a reminder, we’re using @AffinitybySerif for our challenges today. You could probably do it in Powerpoint too, @illustrator, and @inkscape would also work well.
RULES: You can only use predefined shapes in Affinity eg. rectangles, circles, or any of the shapes available when you click and hold the polygon tool. Please only use one colour. Finally, you can only use 10 shapes
You’ll find the shape tools in the palette on the left, there’s rectangle, ellipse and rounded rectangle as well as the Polygon Tool, which if you click hold, gives you lots more options.
Colours can be changed in the Colour Palette on the right. Choose the colour system you want to use from the dropdown
Finally, add a super interesting fact about that creature. Let’s see some interplay of type and image. Here’s another 10-shape infographic we made a bit earlier.
