Barr claim it will take wks to review and redact Mueller Report and that he is limited by grand jury secrecy is fallacious for several reasons:
1. He can ask Chief Judge of District Court in DC for permission to release GJ testimony as Watergate grand jury did in public interest+
2. Barr has resources to get job done fast re classified & ongoing investigs info- just as Comey got job done re HRC emails after he got pressed after damaging her campaign by announcing resumed investigation. Comey put thumb on scale of election. Barr shld not do same to justice
Time from #BarrLetter Summary to release of full #MuellerReport favors the person Barr is protection: Pres Trump. That's why Congress must demand release NOW.

Great ? from @chrislhayes tonight about questions #MuellerReport raises. Too many to list all my ?s but here's one I omitted on air:
How could Mueller not have found overwhelming evidence of obstruction given all we know plus what he knows that we don't?
Questions I did mention on air:
1. Why does Barr say it will take time to redact report? He can get job done fast, especially if he asks Court for permission to release grand jury testimony like Watergate grand jury did. He has resources to get job done fast.
And...
2. Did #Mueller intend to cede his decision to Barr or, as we did in Watergate, to Congress? I bet the latter.

1/ Trump and Nixon both threatened Congress that investigation would hurt legislative goals and economic growth. Both are wrong. Investigations lead to truth and that makes democracy stronger, not weaker. I saw it then and it's still true now.
2/ The only question is whether it will be the Mueller investigation, the SDNY investigations, the emoluments case of the MD and DC AGs, or the NY AG's investigations of the Trump Org, Foundation and Inaugural Cmtee that hurts Trump, his family and administration the most.

1/ I'll be watching Barr's testimony with skepticism because of his avowed extreme views of executive power and his 20 page volunteered memo with it's misleading and unfounded assumptions & legal analysis. In the era of Trump, expanding executive power is particularly dangerous.
2/ In addition, Barr's prepared remarks do not allay my concerns. While he says Mueller should be allowed to finish his investigation, he does not say Mueller will be free to take any actions Mueller believes justified. He could bar indictments or full disclosure of crimes.
3/ I hope the Democrats will be strong in insisting that Barr give Mueller protections like those Cox had during Watergate. They were essential to fair completion of our Watergate work.

1. Note the date: the confidential files with evidence were leaked in October 2018.
2. The Twitter account has been removed. It's old news. There is nothing discrediting to Mueller's investigation in the fact that the Russians stole the files. If anything, it confirms that, yes, Russians hack.

1. If Mueller sent out target letters to Trump insiders, then @RealDonaldTrump knows that indictments are coming. He looked absolutely fried in Paris. Not to cut him slack but he looked like somebody with Cholera.
2. #Manafort's plea required him to cooperate with "the Government and other law enforcement authorities identified by the Government." Fed R Crim P 6(e) authorizes #Mueller with #Rosenstein's permission to share his grand jury files with state prosecutors.
3. So I'll be shocked if by now there are not several indictments already handed down in state courts. Will also be shocked if, while @POTUS was traveling, Whitaker was not briefed on them & shared the secrets with Trump whose system is starting to react to the massive stress.
