Configuration is a form of "code", but is not necessarily programming. It defines the resources and services used and how they are combined for an application. The code is the ***unique business logic*** required for the application.
From High LoC to Low LoC (preferably zero)

Today's code is tomorrow's technical debt. Code is always a liability at some point in the future. Limiting this future liability is a good thing. Working to reduce this liability from the beginning is simply good practice.

What? You mean... you mean... that software lives on beyond the deployment? Beyond the first few minutes/hours/days? Until you retire it? #sarcasm

I think we need a new phrase:

"Your code is for life, not just for deployment"

cf "A dog is for life, not just for Christmas"
I love @mipsytipsy talking truth. She's one of the few who simply nails it almost every time.

Too many devs fail to think about the effects of their code over any term other than the deployment and a bit after.

Maybe because their salary doesn't depend on quality over time?
If devs were paid a bonus based upon the amount of technical debt they created - the less they created, the better their bonus - would the world be a better place?

Because maybe that should be a thing we consider.

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

First off, we must thank-you all. We launched a poll on Monday expecting maybe 500 responses maximum. Instead we had a whopping three-thousand-two-hundred-and-thirty votes on our Twitter poll.

That’s ridiculous.
We asked you which party you thought had the oldest average age of MPs.

Most of you, 66%, thought it was the @Conservatives, then the @LibDems (15%), then @UKLabour (14%), with the @theSNP coming in last with (5%).

I bet the SNP are feeling fairly youthful right about now.

(Thread) To all @UKLabour candidates in the upcoming May local elections:

Unfortunately I will not be able to vote for you as a representative of the Labour Party; this is despite having been a #Labour voter myself in the past. Please allow me to explain briefly my reasons why.
After the sacking of Owen Smith, I cannot vote for @UKLabour in any shape or form at the moment due to Jeremy Corybn's approach towards #Brexit which I view as highly undemocratic and contradictory to what the Labour party is meant to stand for ("for the many, not the few"?).
The attitude towards #Brexit by @jeremycorbyn and other hardcore Brexiteers like him really is now bordering on the fascist, something I find deeply disturbing. It seems that dissenters are being crushed.
