Well, yes, but in Finland, as in Denmark and Norway populist rad rt parties are (a) not new (b) not rising in popularity. So misleading to present this as part of some “global rise in populism “ trend. Sweden a bit different but reflects particular circumstances there 1/2
2/2 Sweden Dems were until recently a more strongly stigmatised and openly racist/fascist party than other Nordic populists. Overhauled their image in recent yrs. And Sweden has accepted more refugees per capita than anyone else in recent yrs.
So “Nordics caught in populist wave” story doesn’t work because (a) there’s no rise in most nordics - rad rt populism is instead established/stable part of local politics (b) the one country, Sweden, where there is a big recent rise has v diff local circumstances 3/2 /ends/
