A fetus is only worth protecting when it provides an opportunity to pass a moral judgment on a woman.
Around half of all conceptions end in miscarriage. Strangely, pro-life advocates are unconcerned by the mass deaths going on every day -- these things just happen. But if a woman making a decision or being negligent was involved, well, then it's murder.
If a fetus was a human, its loss would be a tragedy no matter the cause of that loss. No matter that, much of the time, no one even knew of its existence yet.
But no one cares about fetuses that way. No GOP politician is going to lift a finger to save those millions of lives.
