December first week marks completion of 16 years of my #entrepreneurial journey. I started my business at 22 with just a degree and no actual skill or experience for business. My 2 years of job experience were of beginners level & of not much help.
Looking back I can see what a daunting task I had taken up. There were stages when I almost gave up (mostly in the 1st yr) But my stubbornness sailed me through. I would constantly remind myself not be a failure. However there are a few things I wish I knew or had learnt earlier.
I wish to share a few learnings that I have had in past 16 years as an #Entrepreneur. In this #thread I will list a few lessons that I learnt the hard way and wish it wasn’t the case .

It was decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking as an expression of UN's determination to strengthen action to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
Therefore we say #NoExcuse4DrugAbuse.
Building on the success of last year, the theme for 2018 is: "LISTEN FIRST- Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe."

Fell into a 90s/00s #suicide anthem music loop this afternoon and it reminded me of how depressed I have been in the past and how depressed I am now, again, and how much we still don't discuss #depression in this society.

It's a good piece on writers & suicide, with an emphasis on #LGBT suicides because we kill ourselves more (thanks #homophobia/#transphobia)than str8 people.

Society still romanticizes #depression instead of treating it.

[THREAD] OK, it's time to have another conversation about sex, gender and sexuality being left out of the @Stats_NZ 2018 cencus. I had a chat with @TonyGardenGuru from @RadioLIVENZ in @jamespeshaw's absence this morning:
Rainbow communities have been working with different staffers at Statistics New Zealand for over 25 years on how best to collect data on the diversity of sex, sexuality and gender identity.
In 2007 the Human Rights Commission of New Zealand published the To Be Who I Am Report out of the National Transgender Enquiry. The specific concerns about data from this report included the lack of data on trans communties in nz.
