Welcome to all the new Villagers (that's what I like to call folks who support the work in our digital village). I'm Angelica Lindsey-Ali, a public health professional, certified sex health educator for over 16 years, and a practicing Muslim. Nice to meet you.
I teach women how to reclaim their rights to sexual pleasure, love their bodies, and embrace femininity. Everything that I do is guided by my worldview as a Black Muslim woman. But you don't have to be Black or Muslim to follow and learn.
When it comes to discussions about sexuality, I will always defer to the Islamic perspective with an African lens. I do not mince words when it comes to standing up for and defending the beautiful nuances of my faith. I see my work as expanding the narrative surrounding Islam.
I can be both a practicing Muslim woman and an outspoken advocate for women's sexual health and pleasure. My religion gives me room to educate and share with my sisters. I tread carefully on social media to protect the privacy of my sisters. But in classes? No topic is off limits
My desire to see women enjoy their bodies, learn how to make them work to optimum benefit, and embrace the sensuality and sacredness of womanhood. So, if this movement sounds like your kinda place, welcome. Oh and one more thing...
While I have begun to teach couples about love and intimacy along w/TVA collaborator @coachqa, I do not teach men ANYTHING about sex. That's not my job. The Village Auntie Movement is about women. Brothers can stay, but don't interfere. This is women's work. #tvamovement.
