A brief word about what Yang does *not* mention:

Foreign policy. Not even a word.

I hate to break it to his fans, but this is the arena in which a president has the most power and makes the most difference.
If people think having their jobs taken by a robot sounds dystopian, they need to remember what the consequences of catastrophic foreign policy look like. (Last week's D-Day commemorations might help.)
Other things Yang doesn't mention: The Constitution, even once. How he plans, as president, to work with Congress to "reformat" the American economy. The Supreme Court.
He's not seriously running for president, #YangGang. And that's okay. He has some interesting ideas that need debating, and he's doing a good job drawing attention to them.
Warren and Bernie, particularly, need to be confronted with his arguments, because if he's right, they're wrong. Their ideas will make matters dramatically worse.
Overall, it was a more readable book than the others, and Yang comes across as likeable. It's also the work of an intellectual lightweight, and no one should take it too seriously. There's a large literature on the employment effects of automation--
and the effects of UBI are not at all as clear as he represents them to be. google.com/search?ei=WK_8…
So, good for him for drawing popular attention to the idea, and for writing a book that makes the extent of American distress so vivid.
