I have now gained access to the daily Canadian report from OPIS.

Rack prices will now be the average, falling back to only Suncor if the OPIS report is unavailable.

The gas distributors for each location are:
Vancouver: Suncor, Shell, Esso, Parkland
Nanaimo: Esso, Suncor
Victoria: None in Victoria, using Nanaimo prices.
Kamloops: Shell, Suncor

1/2 I am waiting for access to historic daily rack price data from OPIS. I am looking for the same for retail gas prices. Gasbuddy.com should have it. Once I secure those two things, I'll be able to reconstruct graphs going back through the recent spike in BC.

2/2 Then we'll be able to see how much profit margins were during that spike and if they increased as the prices increased or whether rack prices were also being impacted.

1/2 In todays charts we can see the rack price has dropped across the province. The Island and Lower Mainland are now about 80c at the rack. Kamloops is at 78c.

Retail prices have also dropped slightly but profit has increased.

2/2 I've input historical retail GasBuddy data back to Jan 1 thanks to their resource here which I am now using for all retail prices.

I have not yet received historical rack data from OPIS. Hope to have that soon. The graphs are waiting to be filled! :)

Note: The April 1 rise in Carbon Tax will be included in the breakdown once the historical data comes... it's a lot easier to see it's small impact in the chart now though without the other stuff.
