Also worth noting that in many areas - legal services being one - the U.K. is less regulatory than most other jurisdictions (including many US States).
For example, the U.K. imposes no limitations on setting up an office to offer legal advice - on foreign or even English/Scots law - as long as you don’t claim to be a solicitor/barrister/advocate and don’t conduct litigation or advocacy in the highest courts.
Many EU and (I think) US jurisdictions do stop you doing that unless you jump a regulatory hurdle. They also sometimes require lawyers to be a citizen (or EEA national).
And many states (including US States) require you to be registered if you want to practise a range of skills and crafts (not just the traditional professions): plumbing/hairdressing/baking.
One long run problem the U.K. will have in trade deals is that we are already relatively open to services trade (apart from immigration - a key issue in services but obviously sensitive).
We don’t have much else to offer on that front: which puts further pressure to make concessions on other areas eg agriculture if we are to get “services deals”.
(Not that there is much prospect of such deals: the US shows no sign of offering anything significant and in any event falls back on the point that much US services regulation is a State not a Federal competence and can’t be negotiated with Washington.)
