I’ve tried to mostly cover Russiagate as a factual matter — because the facts, especially for journalists, are what matters. But there’s no hiding that I’m a leftist, & no hiding that Russiagate always stood to be a massive political disaster. This NYT header captures why:

"For two years, Democrats have waited on Robert Mueller to deliver a death blow to the Trump presidency."

Can we all see now how derelict & disastrous that was? Instead of being an actual opposition party, "Democrats have waited on" Mueller to prove a moronic conspiracy theory.

Trump ran as a working-class champion but only enriched elites; tore up the Paris Accord & the Iran deal; ran as anti-military intervention but continued it; imposed racist policies vs. Muslims & immigrants; launched a coup in Venezuela & imposed murderous sanctions.

Democrats:

So congrats to Democrats, allied pundits, & others who credulously peddled their scam. Enjoy the fruits of your labors: a Mueller hearing that he had to dragged into doing, and that will continue to yield nothing but humiliation & reminding us what a disaster Russiagate has been.

While Trump & co. rampaged, "Democrats waited on" an ex-FBI chief to validate a conspiracy theory.

This sentence should live an infamy - a perfect encapsulation of one of the most derelict opposition parties ever:
