Political rant ahead. Warning: thread ahead! It's sad to me how many people automatically disqualify @AndrewYang just because he is running under the democratic party.
Besides showing ignorance in the political system, this just proves that politicians are not the only ones to blame for the polarization of the United States. Political policies and beliefs differ from one candidate to the next, even within the same party.
It's even more sad to me, however, that the policies that would help the most people are bashed the most by others who claim since they didn't get help, why should others.
That's like someone who didn't have access to a Malaria vaccination telling others who do have access to it, "I survived. Hope you don't get Malaria, but since I didn't get the shot, you're out of luck."
Parents who say this irk me the most. You mean to tell me because your family didn't have help 20 to 40 years ago, your kids shouldn't recieve help raising their family? Are you trying to add to the neverending cycle of poverty?
As a teacher, a lot of my friends and coworkers are stressed about money, but we can't get second jobs because, although we only are contracted for 40 hours a week, we work 60-75 depending on the week and time of year.
The #UBI would help almost all of them. If you don't want help, great! You do you! (You can even opt out!) But don't complain about an economically sound process that would help thousands of Americans and then get in the way of it.
As if those two reasons weren't enough to at least #askmeaboutYang, let me point out that his campaign is not based around bashing other candidates or even @realDonaldTrump. He debates with respect and discusses his policies and how they would change America.
Our Founding Fathers worked hard to make sure that the government worked for the people. Today's citizens need help now more than ever. But many politicians are in a metaphorical pissing contest to see who can pass the "most left" or "most right" bills.
All I'm asking is that you look into #Yang2020 and #YangGang. Over 100 policies relevant to the American people without bashing other candidates. I think that's a win! #askmeaboutYang
