Google and it's ties to the Chinese Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA) in China AND America- both directly and though corporate and university surrogates.

Just this week, GOOGLE announced a top executive hase joined the board at Tsinghua University- where a leading artificial intelligence (AI) research body at the prestigious Chinese academic institution conducts AI research for the Chinese military.

During the development of one its Nexus phones back in 2015, Google reportedly hosted nearly 100 Huawei engineers at its famed Googleplex headquarters in Silicon Valley, giving the visitors from China their own lab.

GOOGLE execs recently testified before Congress that the tech giant has 'ended' recent efforts to build a search engine for the Chinese market — referred to internally as 'Project Dragonfly'. But the co has a track record of lying to Congress.

However, 'Project Dragonfly' was already a mature product last year- and reportedly contained Orwellian features such as linking users’ searches to their personal phone numbers, making it easier for the Chinese government to monitor people’s queries.

Besides supporting an oppressive Police State's ability to control it's citizens, Google's development of AI in concert w/the Chinese Military raises serious National Security concerns. More than 1/2 of China's major AI players have funding ties lead back to three companies.

Baidu, Alibaba, and Tencent (like all chinese companies) are ultimately controlled by the PLA. Any 'civillian' applications developed in concert with Google are ultimately shared with the Chinese Militart.

In December, Google announced it was opening a new AI research center in China, expanding its existing presence in the country. Ironically, this came on the heels of announcing it was ending a long-standing AI research relationship with the US Military's DARPA research arm.

GOOGLE claimed it was responding to employee concerns over the US Military use of it's AI research. Apparently it has no qualms about the military of a murderous dictatorship benefitting.

Ultimately, the American public has the right to know if GOOGLE is aiding dictatorships and police states around the world, and helping repress their citizens; does it actually view it's role here in America any differently?
