Thread: this is not being widely covered and it should be because it's deeply sinister.

Yesterday concerned parents contacted @stellacreasy about pro-Brexit propaganda being broadcast on primary school digital noticeboards.

These pictures are clearly targeted at children 1/9
There has been some coverage about this: a story in Metro and some great threads from @nicktoluhurst along with concern from Walthamstow MP @stellacreasy 2/9

It has been reported that this children's-book style tailored propaganda including some video content has been beamed directly to at least 3000 school digital notice boards. Potentially more! 3/9
Most of these images are simplistic portrayals of Boris Johnson which show him in a positive light and push the Brexit narrative. Stella Creasy took the opportunity to ask the Prime Minister about this last night, he didn't give an answer. 4/9

The company responsible for sending content to these noticeboards is Anomaly Group. The company is owned by Anomaly Group Holdings Ltd of East Barn Clifton Fields Lytham Road, Clifton, Preston, PR4 0XG

It is not known whether Anomaly Group are actually responsible for the material being broadcast to the boards in schools, or whether they just make the technology. But in further developments - their company website and twitter handles were completely deleted overnight. 6/9
... their Facebook page was also deleted. The Internet Archive Wayback Machine has retained an archive copy of the Anomaly website from February 2019 which is visible at 7/9

There is nothing on the site which suggests any kind of external advertising is placed on the systems. Talking mainly about using it for displaying school newpapers, anti-bullying messages and curriculum work. 8/9
Taking together that 3000 schools had clear propaganda, specifically tailored at young children broadcast on these screens, followed by a complete deletion of the company's web presence suggests they were involved, or at least that they are trying to avoid scrutiny. 9/9
Further information about the directors of Anomaly Group can be found in this excellent thread.
@stellacreasy apologies - wrong twitter handle ... excellent thread from @nicktolhurst
UPDATE: Philip Lang Austin, main director of the company Anomaly Group (although not listed as actively being a member of the team on their website) has claimed that these frames taken from school screens were taken out of context ... but refuses to share other frames!
He also claims that his family have received death threats ... which is obviously to be condemned. Here's the article where Phil Austin speaks.

So the narrative from Anomaly is that they pulled the project, shut down the twitter, facebook and the websites of all companies the director is associated with (there are many) ... they claim the frames were taken out of context ... but won't share the others for context ... Hmm
