BREAKING NEWS: The court sends back to the @FCC much of the mess it made with #NetNeutrality.

I stood up for an open internet in 2017 because the @FCC was on the wrong side of the American people and the wrong side of history. Let's keep up the fight.

@FCC Here are the highlights of today's #NetNeutrality decision.
First, the court shot down the @FCC's unlawful attempt to block states from stepping in to protect an open internet. This is huge. It means the fight is still on & state & local #NetNeutrality efforts can go forward.
Second, the court takes the @FCC to task for failing to consider how its #NetNeutrality roll-back threatens #publicsafety. The court states that "any blocking or throttling of . . . communications during a public safety crisis could have dire, irreversible results." Exactly.
This public safety issue was sent back to the agency.
Third, the @FCC tried to argue that it didn't need to think about low-income consumers when it rolled-back #NetNeutrality. The court totally disagreed. This issue was sent back to the agency, too. #Lifeline
Finally, the court laments the @FCC offered only "scattered and unreasoned observations" on the effect of its decision on broadband infrastructure. This issue was sent back to the agency, too.
The fight for #NetNeutrality is not over.

The court has given us another chance to protect what matters most: an open internet, public safety, affordable service, and broadband infrastructure.
