So @nerdcity ran an analysis feeding terms to Youtube to see what would trigger automatic demonetization / “soft” censorship.
There are a lot of terms I could analyze in this content (particularly automatic discrimination against LGBT) but I wanna point out: “Palestine.”

I just ran a search; 70 of my @N2Sreports videos include the term “Palestine” - most of them are videos of pro-Palestine activism.
Demonetization artificially decreases visibility in their algorithm.

I’d be ok with never finding out why YouTube’s AI believes content featuring “Shrek” will not be age-appropriate or suitable for advertisers.

One more to take us full circle: Youtube will punish content creators using the term “Ukraine.” Right there next to “Uncle fucker.”
Consider that Ukraine will be a huge keyword of the news cycle going forward. Big mainstream channels will be exempt; indie channels won’t.

Without the incredible work about @InternetsReal, we wouldn’t know about the vicious content discrimination (including - but not exclusively - homophobia) in @TeamYouTube’s algorithms.

As @nerdcity and @InternetsReal discuss/publish, @TeamYouTube demonetizes video (or in my case, an entire channel) based on discriminatory metadata against certain subjects.

On that note, I’d remind @TeamYouTube of what I wrote about how they treat LGBT content here.
They flaunt “Pride” but demonetize content dealing with LGBT topics.
“Straight” and “Heterosexual” are A-OK!

As I wait for them to review it, @nerdcity and @InternetsReal’s work has been informative. Many of my videos are LGBT rights activism and Palestinian activism.
Both are Youtube punishable subjects.
