When the text of the brexit deal arrives later today, no need to treat as a tablet of stone. Just a reminder that Boris Johnson has had a lot of brexit ideas before today that he's had to junk, so precedent would suggest things are less sacrosanct that No10 will claim
Initially No10 said they would not talk to EU leaders until they had agreed to junk the backstop. That fell by the wayside.

Then they said they weren't going to propose legally operable proposals - that would be negotiated in the implementation period. That's gone.
Last weekend brexit secretary Steve Barclay was still saying the plan was simply to drop the backstop. That's not what's coming today.

There is some scepticism around Whitehall that brexit negotiator David Frost is managing the process particularly well. We shall see.
The PM interview with the Sun also suggests that the final offer might not be final (which given early reaction probably just as well for those who want a deal)
