If you follow me, you have seen that the Swamps are being drained on a global basis over the past 5 years by attacking the banking & accounting networks that enable trillions of dollars of #MoneyLaundering for crooks, organized crime & politicians around the world. 
This case arose from a 2017 case against 27 members of the drug cartel money laundering operation in France. But once you get the #receipts they tend to lead to many interesting places!
The refinery paid EY to audit them in 2013 which would cover them for any illicit activity.
They found $5.2Bn in cash transactions, that seemed to be suspicious (you think?)
They even found gold bars painted silver to illegally move the gold.

Exactly the kind of activity an accounting firm is supposed to report to the authorities. But they helped cover it up instead.
EY found these clearly illegal actions & watered them down to 'document irregularities' like gold bars listed as silver bars maybe?
Yes, all just big mistakes...

A Miami gold refinery was flipped against former execs & Latin American drug cartels by the DOJ. The schemes appear to be similar & may be happening at gold refineries around the world.
There may also be tie ins to JPMorgan & other big banks who have been caught making fraudulent trades called spoofing to artificially inflate the price of gold.
It may have played a big role in looting various nations, including this more recent case from Venezuela that my fried Shannon documented. @Avery1776

@Avery1776 ICIJ has done a report on the movement of gold from Africa to the Middle East, like the gold bars from Morocco that were painted silver?
Guess that would explain why more gold is imported than was exported!
